I had a rewarding 35-year career in Public Health at the County of Santa Clara. Soon after retiring I experienced a stroke that that affected my right side.
I embraced my rehab and regained my speech and with much encouragement from friends and professionals I am walking again.
I love meeting people developing rapport with them. Family is very important to me is my route and anchor. I have two adult children ages 31 and 35, a son and a daughter that are engaged in work that they love.
I drive great enjoyment and learning from reading and writing. Before my stroke I had an active lifestyle. But I am pushing my limits with my physical activity and tuning up my mind every day.
I have been a practicing Buddhist for 45 years. Philosophy and practice of the Buddhism that I embrace teaches that a Buddha can be none other than a human being that the Buddha nature is everywhere and and everything. It is about compassion wisdom and altrustic action in this real world of daily life.

My art and passion is planning and cooking creative delicious food for my friends. I was raised on the Mexican border so I love to prepare the authentic cuisine from scratch. I also bake artisan breads, succulent slow-roasted bar-b-que and a variety of dishes from other regional and ethnic cuisines.
Along with the cooking comes the vegetable garden. The enjoyment that comes from going out to my backyard garden to harvest fresh produce to include in my meal preparation.
